Reaserch Dreams
Research in the College of Liberal Arts is a multimillion-dollar enterprise that drives change across Alabama and the world. When national publications need to understand a topic, they come to Auburn. When government agencies and foundations need experts to investigate problems and find solutions, they come to Auburn. And when a faculty member wants to turn their research dreams into life changing realities for people across the globe, they come to Auburn.
Our impact reaches beyond campus and across continents.
Our faculty’s dreams change the world.

As Auburn’s faculty expertise garners national attention, so too does support for our ambitious research initiatives. The rise in external funding over the past three years reflects not only the growing confidence of national foundations, government agencies, and industry partners in Auburn’s ability to solve critical challenges but also our faculty’s commitment to turning knowledge into action. The charts below highlight the significant growth in external funding that continues to empower Auburn researchers in their quest to drive meaningful change.
Bar chart titled "Research Funding 2021–2023" showing calendar year funding amounts: $3.712 million in 2021, $5.878 million in 2022, and $6.317 million in 2023, indicating an increase over the three years.
Pie chart titled "Research Funding for 2023" displaying funding sources: $3,408,013 from the state, $1,513,364 from other sources, and $1,395,757 from federal sources. Total research funding is $6,317,133.74.
This momentum in funding fuels more than just projects—it fuels possibilities. Auburn’s success has created a launchpad for the bold aspirations of our faculty. As President Roberts states, we have “earned the right to dream the biggest dreams.” Each of our faculty are putting in hard work today to achieve their dreams of making our world a better place.
